As per OkCupid-  “As of June 2021, 69 per cent men and 71 per cent women [on OkCupid] say they would take the Covid vaccine. Compared to only 15 per cent men and 13 per cent women who admit to being averse to the idea of getting themselves vaccinated,”.

“The badge appears in-profile and is expected to result in a 35 per cent increase in match rate with others who are either vaccinated or getting vaccinated soon,” he added.

“While the vaccination feature on bio is pretty new, we’re seeing the excitement around it. Almost 30 percent of new users have added this badge to their profile and as more people get vaccinated, we should see this number go up,” Ravi Mittal, founder & CEO, QuackQuack, adds.

Woo, a women-centric dating app said- “More than 60 percent of our users are willing to go on date with someone who has received at least the first dose of the vaccination. Within a month, 19 percent of our users have already received their vaccination badges and should reach close to 40 percent by July 15,”.

Dating app Tinder is one of the leading dating apps in India. The app has got more than 1 million users even in this lockdown due to which they are adding more and more features to attract their users.

On this, Chief executive Jim Lanzone said- “People want to take more time to get to know somebody virtually before deciding that they want to match and meet offline.

The smartphone app for finding love, whether it be fleeting or life-long, unveiled new features including playful “Hot Takes”: multiple-choice questions to see whether users’ “flirty banter” is in sync. Tinder is also providing an option to add video clips to user profiles to provide glimpses of people’s lives, interests or adventures. As the pandemic accelerated trends of remote work, learning and socializing, it also gave momentum to cultivating new relationships more deeply online before committing to connecting in the real world. “Twenty-somethings today want something a little bit different, which is more substantive and more virtual-first.

“That trend, generationally, was pre-Covid. Then Covid just really cemented it across all generations. The ultimate need for people is to meet offline and to have a real relationship in the real world. ” He further added.

Tinder has got both, premium and a free version available. The app is already been used in 190 countries. This feature has already been introduced in many countries and people are looking forward to it.

Google is now planning to ban all the Sugar Daddy apps available in India. Recently, in an interview, the app developer stated that they are now going to forbid the apps that are either providing sexual acts in exchange for any monetary or other kinds of compensation.

If you’re not known with this term, Sugar daddy apps are those apps where older men are involved in young women where they are ready to spend money on them in exchange for sexual favors. It is now a thing that is being common in India and if we see the numbers, then India has the highest number of sugar daddies than any of the other Asian country has.

The country has around 3,38,000 sugar daddies already in India followed by Indonesia that has around 60,250 sugar daddies involved. Google has now strictly taken the step to prohibit these kinds of apps where anyone is compensated sexually.

As per Google, the company is planning to ban  “apps that promote sex-related entertainment, escort services or other services that may be interpreted as providing sexual acts in exchange for compensation, including, but not limited to compensated dating or sexual arrangements where one participant is expected or implied to provide money, gifts or financial support to another participant (‘sugar dating’).”

Google Play Store is going to ban the apps from 1st September.

Recently, a video has got viral where an Indian man got abused due to his nationality. An Indian man, dave got abused by some random person for having a Chinese girlfriend. It was a normal evening when they were crossing nearby and suddenly a man came to them and started abusing them for having international love affair. The man abused the Indian man and said that he should only date women from his country. He also asked his girl to leave him as he is Indian. The man was surely not doing right and Dave took him to his social media and told the country about the incident he faced.

He wrote- “I come from a mixed-race background and so is my girlfriend. We both are mixed race, but we are proud to be Singaporeans. I feel we shouldn’t be publicly shamed just because of our skin colour. Love is love. Love has no race love has no religion. You and I should be able to love whoever we want to love. Let’s not become like this man in the video.”

On this, Singapore, where the incident took place also supported Dave and showed the support towards him as it was the right thing to do and even the authorities tried supporting the Indian man against the racism he was facing.
